Dogs do better on Hemp meal

Researchers found that dogs on the plant-based diets were 13% less likely to develop illness and need visits to the vets.

Research into canine diets has shown that, of the 2639 dogs and their guardian’s surveyed, dogs visit the vets less if they are on vegan diets. Andrew Knight and his team in the UK,( https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0265662) reported on dogs which had been on three different diets (pet food, raw meat and vegan pet food) for a year.

They found that dogs on the plant-based diets were 13% less likely to develop illness and need visits to the vets.  The Vets involved in the study reported that animals on a vegan diet appeared healthier than those on the other diets and were less likely to present with minor illnesses.

Hemp meal, as a plant-based protein, offers not only protein but also small amounts of good trans-fats, Omegas 3, 6 and 9 which translate into a unique and rare ratio of 3:1 Linoleic and ALA that improve coat, gut and joint issues.  The hemp plant-based protein works with a dog’s natural omnivore diet by allowing them to still have a vegan high protein intake for strong growth, energy and muscle replacement.
